It's Fall Ya'll! Let's Decorate!

So, usually, I set up my house for fall on September 1st. I've been pretty religious about that since having a house, but this year, on September 1st, it was 108 outside - I've never seen it get past 100 where I live! Here on the Central Coast of California, we do not have A/C in our houses. Soooo basically, I was MiSeRaBLe. I LOVE the heat, but I love the heat with the option of cooling off. When it's that hot outside and like 92 inside, you basically tend to want to do NOTHING. Sooo, that's basically what I did I worked and did nothing else.

Yesterday and today, I was dealt a HORRIBLE cold complete with fever, cold sweats, sore throat, stuffy/runny nose... UGH. But, I was told to rest it up a bit to get recovered for our big work event coming up at the end of the month. I was grateful for a little break, I rested most of the day. After I dropped off the boys from school, I placed a quick mobile order for some Starbucks, picked it up, came home, put the baby down for a nap and got caught up on some of my shows. I just hung out and it felt good. BUT I'm not one to sit around and do nothing... even when I'm sick. So I felt the urge to decorate for my fave season - even though we're still at 78 degrees haha.

Usually I decorate with oranges and yellows, but this year, I wanted a more farmhouse rustic look. For the last week or so, I've been working on my "Gather" sign when I can find the time - TOTALLY made it with materials that I already had lying around the house - so yay for free decor! But I had to go out and get some white pumpkins. I was feeling a little better, so I went to Michael's and picked up some pumpkins. I couldn't find all white, but I kind of loved the idea of incorporating green ones! Then, I found these sagey green stems, some wheat stems and some of my dried lavender {that I already had} and made them into a suto-garland around my new pumpkins. I just love the way it turned out. {BTW, the rope is to tie the fireplace doors together. The baby likes to get in there and play in the soot. Oye.}

So after I decorated, I paid for it - BIG TIME. I started getting cold sweats again and could definitely feel the fever coming back! I sat on the couch for about an hour after decorating just cooling down and resting before I had to make dinner... mehhh.... Not fun. But at least my living room is KIND OF done for fall. I still want to do a couple things here and there... but I can't afford to do it all at once, gotta do little by little - and since the mantle is the focal point - it was first! Next is the dining table!

Do you decorate for the Fall? How do you plan on decorating this year? Tell me in the comments below <3
